FREE VPK is available to all Florida four-year-olds. Your child must be four years of age but not five years of age or older on September 1st of the school year in which they will attend VPK. The program provides developmentally appropriate instruction and activities to prepare your child for Kindergarten.
VPK is offered through approved private licensed child care centers, licensed family child care homes, faith-based providers, public and private schools.
The program gives families two choices to participate: a 540 instructional hour school year program or a 300 hour summer program.

Bring your child’s original birth certificate, your (legal guardian's) ID, as well as your proof of Florida residence. (A PO Box is not an acceptable proof of residence.)

A: You may also use a shot record signed by the child’s physician, a passport, military identification card or an insurance policy in force for at least two years.
